Beginning Aerial Theatre
Monday Evenings 7-9pm Nov 12 – Dec 10
$200
Class will offer and an exploration on a variety of low flying suspended and mounted apparatus including trapeze, hoop, floating ladders and harness. Students will explore an approach to theatre making and three-dimensional expression that embraces physical risk and uses gravity to a new advantage. Classes are taught in an atmosphere of safety and respect and include conditioning training, beginning circus skills, and individual attention. An excellent work out while exploring new ways for expression!  Open to all levels of ability.

Women’s Myth & Movement
Weekend workshop for women Saturday-Sunday Dec 1-2, noon-3: 30
$120
Using masks and low flying trapeze, this weekend intensive will blend movement off the ground with the exploration of creation myth stories as a way to develop awareness, responsivity and the development of personal myth and play. Women in community, environmentalism and physical expression will be themes developed and investigated through out the weekend

Instructor Mara Niemanis creates theatre in the air using trapeze and invented aerial apparatus that includes floating sculptures and incongruous large objects. She has an MFA in Theatre From Towson Univ and was a resident artist at Creative Alliance for 3 years. Mara has over 10 years experience teaching and performing both in the United States and abroad. She is a protégé of aerial pioneer, Terry Sendgraff and trained at The San Francisco School of Circus Arts and is a graduate of the Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre where she served as an instructor and company member.
